On behalf of Wine Plus+, we are pleased to present a WSET Level 2 Wine Hybrid Course in Victoria.

This model is for students with a busy schedule, but who still want to learn tasting technique in a classroom setting.

The course can be taken from anywhere with an internet connection. Classes are done online, at your own pace, then students come to the tasting workshop to learn tasting technique and to complete the exam.

You complete your own personal study along with the online lectures over the months prior to the workshop, and then train with us for a day to do the tasting workshop, and complete the exam. An online community group and Q&A sessions allow you to ask any questions you might have along the way.

Course Outline:

  • Over 5 hours of online classes (recorded to watch at your own pace)

  • Q&A sessions  and online community with Master of Wine Rhys Pender

  • 1 day - tasting workshop and exam

Flexibility. The hybrid classes are all about flexibility. The online classes can be viewed at your own pace. It is your schedule, your time, so we want to make it flexible.

Wine Tastings

While we will introduce the WSET tasting technique in the on-line classes, and you are encouraged to practice your tasting throughout the course, you will have a 1 day in-class tasting workshop to perfect your tasting skills. 

You will learn the WSET systematic approach to tasting with our qualified instructors in the classroom, tasting a selection of wines from around the world. 

Exam

The exam will take place at the end of the workshop day.

About WSET Level 2

WSET’s Level 2 Award in Wines is a beginner to intermediate-level qualification exploring wines, suitable for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.

This qualification is intended for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.

Level 1 is not a pre-requisite for registering for Level 2. This course is a great place to start for those wanting to learn more about the world of wine and who already have a little experience working in wine or as a wine consumer.

  • In-class tasting and exam on Sunday, October 18 2026. 9am - 4:30pm (exam at 3pm)
